Could she be molting?

I don't think so. She is about 7 months old, and has only been laying for a few weeks. There isnt any signs of her being egg bound again. Maybe her system was just shocked a bit, or else her egg laying time has changed and shes laying in the yard after I let them out in the morning. But before Saturday, there was an egg everyday in the same spot in her coop.

Her production system may still be recovering. I'm sure she'll be back to normal pretty soon.

Update: it's been 15 days since the incident and the last egg she laid was in the tub. This morning I go to to the coop and check her nest box as I do every morning and there were 3 eggs! I didn't think they laid more than one a day.

They don't, but they are real good at hiding them.

This is an older post, but I found it when researching about Buff ducks... I'll be adding a few to my flock this week I think! I've admired them for a while, and finally got the okay to get a few. I'm excited! Your girl is very pretty, and I'm happy she's doing well. It's sad, but also nice to come across a thread like this, so I know just in case something happens to one of my gals.
