A lot of people have that experience, yes. Raise them as pets and they see you as an equal to put into place. Raise them to move away from you and respect you, they seem to be less aggressive.

Ah. That makes sense. I don't have any roosters but would have thought the opposite and would most likely have regretted it.

95% of the time yes. Though, there will be always be some roosters that stay nice and some that are devil spawn no matter what.

I have 3 buff orpington chicks. One going on 4 weeks and 2 going on 5 weeks. None of their combs are that big and they are not pink. Sold as pullets. Don't know if that's helpful.

Sorry you’ll have to rehome him. If you got him as a sexed pullet from a hatchery, it’s about 85 to 90% accurate, i.e. about 1 out of 10 will be male. You just happened to get the one.

The farm I got him from took him back and agreed he was a cockerel. I was sad to see home go. Was hoping to get another buff but he didn’t have any. Got a 4 week old ISA brown pullet. Hoping to get her to be just as friendly!

Sorry that you had to give him up but glad to hear they took him back. I don't know how I would find a home for a roo.
