I know this an old thread, but maybe I can get an answer. What if I crossed dominant white with a gold spangled bird? What birds carry the dominant white gene?

well using the chicken calculator seems like you would end with white patterned gold spangled

I would use a Red Pyle OEG

here is the cross made using henks calculator

a Red Pyle genotype(e+/e+, I/I) crossed with a golden spangled genotype(eb/eb, Db/Db, Pg/Pg, Ml/Ml)

I am using a Red Pyle OEG Bantam hen and a Thuringer baardhoen rooster as reference but any breed with same genotype could be used

here is a Thuringer baardhoen Goudzwartgetoept haan(Hann means rooster) and Thuringer baardhoen Goudzwartgetoept hen(hen means hen..

)

Now here is what that cross would look like(Red Pyle crossed with Golden Spangled)

I say they look very nice...

if you want to read more on the Thuringer baardhoen you can click here(I think its dutch)

I'll be hatching some gold spangled Brabanters this spring. A white patterned gold Brabanter would be cool. Europe has chamois Brabanters which are orange with white spangles. I could get pretty close. Is there someplace I could look up what breeds have the proper genes?
