I recently hatched three cute little buff laced polish chicks - a week old today. I have to admit, they are acting kind of crazy. Is it the breed or me? The seem awfully spastic, take defensive postures, etc. Still cute as all heck, but kind of crazy for little chicks. Makes my day old keets seem like I just gave them a dose of benadryl compared to the polish chicks.

I have 8 buff laced polish which are nearly 4 months old, they were quite friendly when small and I gave them lots of attention as their crest came in they have become more flighty but they know the sound of my voice and come when called, but they are not nearly as friendly as some of my other breeds.

I have a white crested black polish and she was that way when she was little. Now she is the friendliest one out there, I was for sureshe was going to be the spaz of the flock. She wasn't a big fan of holding and cuddling. Whe I would walk by the brooder or reach she would flap around like I was trying to kill her!! I don't kow why the change, but she is the sweetest bird out of my 20.

All mine are fine as long as I don't try to handle them. They've gotten better since I moved them to the brooder coop a week or so ago. At least they don't act like I'm going to eat them alive now. Mom and Dad are okay with me as long I as I don't touch.

All the polish I had were like that. The hens didn't lay until 30+ weeks.

I have eleven 14 week old polish pullets. 5 gold laced, 2 WC blues, 3 WC blacks, and one buff laced.

The buff laced is by far the lunatic in the bunch. So crazy she won't even come neat me when I have treats! A complete nutjob. The other 10 are great and always come running up to the gate when they see me.

Buff laced definitely has a screw loose somewhere...

It seems as though that is the consensus. My crazy little trio were chirping up a storm the other night - usually a cause for concern. So I peeked in on them to find out what the problem was. Turns out it was not that there was a real problem but that I had changed something in their brooder and they just didn't like it - it was bothering them.

Seems as though I hatched a couple of critics.
