Happy Birthday!4 eggs today, from Août and the juniors
My big girls turned two years old today! Yay!![]()
Update on this:I'm keeping all her eggs for incubation.
I’m sorry you’re down to just one egg from the first batch, but I’m glad that one is doing well! What a great hen she is to keep on laying at her age, even though it’s nearly summer already. I’ll keep my finger crossed for these eggs to hatch!Update on this:
I had the 3 in the incubator, 1 was infertile so I tossed. The others were developing. Well I candled last night and unfortunately one of them died, it was on day 13 or 14.The other one is still alive though, and due to hatch on the 18th, if it makes it I'm going to have to buy some chicks.
Sunday night I added 3 more of Hawk's eggs, as they were starting to get old and I want to maximize my chances on getting chicks off of her. Then I added another one Monday morning (since it was only 12 hours after I added the others, not a big difference) that Hawk had just laid, and I watched her lay it. Out of those 4 eggs, 2 are 100% developing, one I did see something, and for the other I felt like I saw something as well, but not sure.
Hawk has laid another egg since, so I'm saving that one to put in if the one egg makes it and hatches (on the 18th). I don't want to have 3 different sets of eggs in at the same time.![]()
