Hello everyone. I have a Buff Laced Polish Crested chick about 2 months. She was fine when we bought her and now she acts like she's disoriented. She stumbles when she walks and is just very listless. She has been eating and drinking ok up until today and now is just laying around. Her poop is watery and kind of mucous like

Sorry to say that sounds like what happened to my blue Wyandotte bantam and she just got worse until I could get with a CO2 chamber I made. She was also breathing heavy and when I had her in my hand she'd just let her head hang. I felt so bad but I could tell she had given up. Hope you have better luck than I did and sorry I couldn't be more help.

Hi @signmom3

Can you post some photos of the poop?
How long has she been outside - what's your weather been like?
Any chance that she has been pecked in the head or suffered a head injury?

I'm sorry you're having trouble.
Being off balance/disoriented, lethargic and having loose stools with mucous - my first thoughts are Coccidiosis. Treatment is with Corid which can be found in the cattle section of most feed stores.

Corid dosage is 1 1/2 teaspoons Corid powder per gallon or 2 teaspoons of 9.6% Corid liquid per gallon.
Give for 5-7 days - make sure this is the ONLY water available during that time period. Mix a fresh batch at least once a day.

I am sorry to say the Buff Laced passed away. We still have no answers as to what was actually wrong.
