I know this breed can be sneaky but this one has me stumped! I was convinced it was a cockerel but today I’ve gone out to feed them and am now second guessing myself… so to the experts I go!

Coloring looks like a pullet, but the slight wattles coming in at 8 weeks is making my doubt myself.

If I'm not mistaken red leakage would only be on the back and wings if it were a male, but her(?) coloring is more even.

This chick doesn't look much like Buff laced (maybe rooster specific coloring interfering with the lacing)... But he does look like a male and a wyandotte. He's very big for 8 weeks.

In my opinion, it’s a bit early to tell. Weird bird. The coloring is making it hard to tell if it’s a patchy cockerel or an oddly colored pullet.
Check back in a couple weeks. It should be clearer then.
