Buff mottling

I have a question if you only have one buff mottled chicken & wanted to breed them. What solid colour would you use? And yes i know the mottling would disappear in the f1 gen.

Thinking maybe Buff mottled pekin x silkie?
What colour though?

Another buff is the best bet but you can also use a buff columbian, red or red columbian without to much hassle.

If i use a buff silkie and then breed his offspring together will the f2 babys be mottled

Around 25% will be mottled.

Breed the offspring back to the mottled parent. You'll get 50% mottled F2s.
