Buff or white gander?

How can I be sure if my male african/chinese gosling is going to get buff or white color? The father was a dark brown and the mum a white with blue eyes. Is that how you get buff coloration?

This is the gosling I'm talking about, he's already started growing his white feathers on his back. If he is going to be totally white wouldn't he be "lemon" yellow?

I would think he'd be yellow if going to be white. beautiful gosling too.
