I have had 2 RIR hens that will shadow me when I am in the yard, but all 6 of my Buff O's would ignore me and pointedly avoid me unless I was throwing out treats. Well, today I sat in my chair in the yard watching the chickens. For the first time one of the Buff O girls came over and looked me over, then jumped up on my arm and sat there. She murmured to me for a while, then just sat very quietly with me for a long time. She stayed even after all the other chickens left my yard and strayed into my neighbors yard. That was kinda cool! She seemed completely at ease with me!
My buff orpingtons are the friendliest ever and love the sit on my lap and hang out with me. Good to hear yours is warming up to you!
My Buff Orps are so sweet! They sit on my lap and like to snuggle under my neck in the evenings. I really think they would roost on me if I'd let them....
She sat on me close to an hour, then turned around, pooped on me, and went on her merry chicken way. I was very glad it wasn't a runny poo! It just rolled off onto the ground.
