Buff Orp blue in the face...need to worry? Pics attached

Hi, I got a picture of what we have going on...Noone is showing ANY symptoms of illness...everything "seems" to be just fine...

We have 2 of our buff orps that have turned this color blue in their face..thats the only thing that we have noticed and I've been watching poo, watching food intake, etc etc etc....

Has anyone seen this happen before?? Is this something I need to worry about?? I am wondering if it is bruising? I just don't know...

Help!?!? The 2nd pic is of one that has just a slight blue tint above her eye...which is making me wonder if its bruising from the Roo pulling on her comb.....the first pic , her other side is fine...this side is the only side with the discoloration....

I have never seen it, but the one with the blue face looks like her pupil is dilated. And they do look like they might be a little swollen in the face. I would isolate them for sure. I dont think a roo could do that, but who am I to say?

It took me a few tries to get a good pic of her blue face...I wonder if the camera flashing is what dialated her eye....I think i tried 3 times before I got this pic....

I have never heard or seen anything like this. I sure hope they are alright. Hopefully someone has seen this before and can shed some light.

Ok...weirding me out even more....can someone post a pic of their 22 week old or close to it Buff Orp....do mine look ok???????

They both look like their faces are swollen. That could be a bruise or Infectious Coryza does that. Could be something else too. I am no expert, sorry.

Don't know what's going on with your chooks.

Here's a pic of a couple of my 17 week olds...

Without knowing much, I would guess the pupils in your pics are so big because of the flash. The coop looks dark in the background, so their eyes were wide open to see better, and they don't have time to react to the flash.

I have never seen this before either, but I looked up blue face on my disease charts and found the following linked..

Newcastle
Infectioustenosynovitis
AI
Swollen head syndrome
Aspergillosis

I would start researching these and see if she (or anyone else) shows any other symptoms related to any of these illnesses.

This is where I've been looking...does anyone have a better site? I dont' see some of the items that Jody said I should look up...I'm just not seeing any other symptoms....

I dont know if this would be considered a symptom or not but they are eating less...but we switched them to layer feed at 18 weeks and we have been giving treats now where we weren't before....so I was expecting them to eat less...when I say "less" ...when they were still on the grower feed (medicated) they would usually have eaten all the food we had left out by the time we went to feed them in the evening...now with the Layer feed they usually have some left from feeding time to feeding time...especially overnight into morning....everyone is eating tho...

Also...these all came together...we haven't added in any birds...haven't had any birds on the land before...I think they may have had pheasants before on the opposite side of our shop but they haven't been even close to that area....that is where our dogs kennel is.
