buff orp rooster

i just found out i had a buff orp rooster.....i have 16 hens...the roos is so gentle and loves to be cuddled and sit on my lap...i was told to stop cuddling it or it wont be aggressive , is that okay to not be aggressive.....just love the little guy

I know that I’ve raised so many roosters over the years and I have coddled and babied everyone. The majority have been very friendly, I’ve had maybe 2 that were aggressive.

I think that aggression just depends on the individual rooster’s personality.

It really depends if you treat them all equally so the rooster can see that you’re not hurting the hens.

Both of these posts are great questions. An aggressive rooster is only good for dinner. Roosters don’t protect flocks, only aleart them of danger and then high tail it to save their own hides.

no...i have no need for it to be aggressive, i think i will just keep cuddling it......

I let my roosters be. They don’t get special treatment and they get to live for free as long as they keep the eggs fertile and are able to mate. And they don’t attack anyone or any hen.
