One of my BOs laid today, first egg.
White?
I thought BOs laid brown

HI,
i have bo's and non of them have ever laid white eggs but since your chickens are just starting to lay they might lay a little wacky at first, i once got an egg a little smaller then a ping pong ball.

Are they hatchery birds? Hopefully they will get all the plumbing worked out and you will have pretty brown eggs.
Also are you sure it is white and not cream/tinted?

Was it white like store eggs or more cream colored? I've seen some really light cream colored eggs on BOs. They don't lay a dark brown egg, but typically a light to med shade (almost pinkish). Also, if they get into medicated chick starter, the amprolium can make the eggshells white. First eggs are often not the right shade yet..keep us posted if the egg color improves as she gets things going.

My BO's lay from very light brown to dark brown with specks.

My six BO's also lay from light cream to dark brown. I know who's laid what and when by now.

Kinda like a cream color.

Mine sometimes lay very light cream colored eggs.

mine lays a creamy almost pink colored egg.
