Extra large egg

I have to agree that double yoke eggs can be a sign of reproduction problems since a hen I had laid huge single and double yoke eggs in the beginning of laying. When she was a year or so old she would only lay lash eggs here and there and seemed to developed crop problems also which killed her.
 
Over the years I have had a lot of BO. Generally called 'Butter' I had one that lived to 4 years, which is a good spell for me. The first year, she laid almost all were double Yorkers. The second year, a double yolk 2-3 times a week, the third year - 1 in the first week of laying and never another double yolk.
i have a leghorn that is pushing 8 years old and shes as healthy as a horse
