Buff Orpington… Black tail?

I know that they can commonly get black specs and stuff, but I haven’t seen it to this extent… is this normal?

about 10 weeks old

vent looks clean, but these feathers are kinda caked with something dark.

is this just getting pooped on while roosting? Something else?

Have you tried soaking her in a tub of sudsy warm water to remove the grime so you can inspect her skin for injuries or skin lesions?
