buff orpington and a maran?

ill have to get some pics of him and his sister. they look nothing alike.
 
I have one americana that looks like a bluelaced red wyandotte, I have another americana that looks like a delaware, and one americana that looks like a columbian wyandotte.
 
So does anyone know if you cross these can you still show them? Someone made reference to 'my prize winning rooster', so I was wondering if that is what they meant. Do all show birds have to be pure bred? I want to experiment too, can't wait!
 
I believe their are some special type shows where you can show hybrids which is what two purebreeds produce as offspring...i am not experimenting because i depend on my birds for homesteading only trying to produce a functionable dual purpose bird... :)
