It's such an active little thing! A bit bigger than the others too. Looking forward to finding out if I've got a little roo baby!

Girls! In that mix the barred mama will make for boys who will have her barring. This is shown by white dot on the head usually that indicates that chick will be barred from this mix. If you don't see spots those are beautiful girls. Congrats!

The one on the far left, little yellow thing with brownish face, I'm thinking it's momma is one of my rir or production reds, or whatever you wanna call them, they were sold as rir, but after some research, they don't look like true rir to me. Anyways, would a buff orp rooster and production red hen make a sex link? I'm still trying to understand this chicken genetics thing! It's quite interesting.

Nope, no sex linkage there. Basically, you need a barred hen and a non-white, non barred rooster for black sex links. Or, a gold/red rooster and a silver hen for red sex links.

Buff x Red usually seems to give an orange-ish shade. You have to wait until they're around 6 weeks to sex them.
