White and Buff Orps should have white skin and feet. That looks like a buff rock to me too and definitely a boy. A girl's comb won't even come past the fuzz on her head much and you can tell the difference pretty easily at this age.

As for your buff rock..a lot of people mix them up, so I would just let the seller know what she has so she doesn't continue to misrepresent them unknowingly. I bet they had no idea and they were sold to him/her as buff orps, so that's what they called them.

Buff rocks are great layers and have good personalities too. I think you'll enjoy them.

Here is the responce I got.


We do get the yellow legs from time to time but they are rare

I dont care to be honest. I love them to death and they are so cute. Battery is done charging so I am going to take more pics

I will agree with them that an occasional throwback of yellow happens. Are all of your chicks feet yellow or are some white too? If some are white, then they could be throwbacks from breeding history. Can't wait to see more pics. I love buff chicks, regardless!

Remind me to never listen to my younger brother. He dont like chickens and does not know the difference of white or yellow. They are white legged. I looked at them myself. I have one with yellowish-white. I feel so dumb for listening to him. I agree with you as well. all buff chicks are so adorable. Anyway the lighting made them look yellow but they are white.

Not to try to steal the conversation, but my BO cross has black feet, and I am 100% sure she is 1/2 BO.

What cross out of SLW, Bl. Australorp, or RIR could she be?

She looks like she's full BO, but has black legs, and a rose comb.
