Again I'm in FL so no frost biteThose aren’t always the greatest idea. If the power ever goes out, the birds won’t be acclimated to the cold and will die. Birds can handle cold much easier than heat. But the key is proper ventilation so it doesn’t get humid in there. That’s when frostbite sets in. The coop likely doesn’t have enough ventilation. The cold isn’t the issue. As long as it’s dry and not humid or drafty.
