Why are you not understanding that there are other kinds/colors of orpingtons. Buff isn't the only color.
They might love another kind of orpington and hate the buff color. They probably don't regret anything.

She needs to molt to darken up. But she has a cute face. And because she needs to molt here color is actually better than a normal one. She looks like honey in milk.
