Hi, I have been reading posts on BYC for years but this is my first time posting. I need your expert and experienced advice. I have a buff orpington who started acting strange last week and I have 5 other seemingly healthy chickens.
Here is was I see:
-Very weak-wobbles and sometimes falls down when I set her down
-weighs 2.5 lbs
-runny poop-see photo
-Is eating and drinking-I have separated her from the flock for several hours a day as they were keeping her from eating sometimes
-feet maybe paler
-Vent - see photo
-comb maybe a little dry
-feathers are healthy/fluffy

Welcome to the BYC forum :welcome

I am not an expert, but I would put your sick chick in an isolation pen with her food and water for a few days to see if she recovers. Maybe a little vitamin mix in the water as a bonus.

Welcome to BYC. How old is she? Has she been recently laying eggs? Her poop looks full of mucus, so I would try to get a vet to test her poop for coccidiosis, worms, and enteritis. Since it is Saturday, I would go buy some Corid or amprollium at your feed or farm store, and start treatment for possible coccidiosis. Dosage is 10 ml (2 tsp) of the Corid liquid or 1.5 tsp of Corid powder per gallon of water for 5-7 days, with fresh mixed each day. On Monday, try to collect some droppings and go get them tested, but call first. Vitamins with electrolytes could be given right now, and then hold off on them when you start Corid until after it is completed.

Was she vaccinated for Mareks disease? Wobbling, weakness of extremities, can be a sign of dehydration, being kept from food and water, coccidiosis, and mand other illnesses. Place her near food and water, and try to offer chicken feed made wet with water, cooked egg, tuna, and lots of water.

Thank you for the advice. She was not vaccinated. She is 3 yrs old and was laying eggs but I can't tell when she stopped or if it stopped for sure. I have her separated all day with her own food and wster and she is eating and drinking. I will try the other suggestions. Thank you again.

If you get Corid liquid, you can give her 1/2 an ml (0.5 ml) orally to jumpstart Corid treatment, while also having her drink the Corid treated water. Give us an update on how she is doing a bit later.

I am sorry to say that our chicken died this morning before I could start the Corid. I truly appreciate the prompt and supportive advice. Thank you again. We will miss our “Sunny.”
