Hi! I'm hoping you all can help me out. I'm pretty sure my 5 week old BO is a cockrell but I'm hoping I'm wrong. Her/his attitude has had me guessing for a while but it looks like the comb is starting to pink up more than I would like for being a pullet.He/she has definitely been asserting his/her dominance over the wyandotte we have that is a little older. Otherwise Mr. Mable has been very sweet.

Our previous flock had several Roos and they were nice. I noticed something with the ones we are raising that the cockerels have more intense color then the pullets.

We got 4 chicks this year from the tractor supply and all were supposed to be pullets, but as I have learned from past experiences this is definitely not always the case. I'm hoping my other three are pullets. We aren't really supposed to have roosters here, but we've gotten away with one in the past since he was on the quiet side and we have awesome neighbors. I really don't want to re-home any of these babies. These four are some of the sweetest we've had in a while.
