Buff Orpington Roo or Hen

Not 100% convinced this is a rooster and also not 100% sure it's a pure buff orpington. The dark feathers are throwing me off. Appreciate any input, thank you

Looks like a pullet from what I can tell in the photos. Do you have photos in better lighting? How old is this bird?

You are right on both counts. It's a female and it is not pure buff Orpington, although it is part buff Orpington.

I will try and get better pics, she/he is new and hiding in thr rafters. I was told it was hatched this Spring, by the size I'm guessing maybe 5 or 6 months. It's as big as my full grown wyandotte hens.
