Can someone help me understand if this cross produces sex linked chicks? And of so, any idea of the color/patterns per gender to be expected? I have seen some conflicting information. I am thinking that maybe my pullet chicks would be primarily golden/buff, and cockerels would be darker and show some patterning? Am I correct in this thinking? My broody is hatching some eggs as we speak. 3 are dry- looks like a pure BO, and 2 of the mixed chicks. She has 2 more drying under her currently. Not sure what they are yet, other than mostly yellow from the little I saw.

They would be sex linked.
Pullets would be black tailed buff with some lacing, cockerels would be black tailed silver and they would have yellow in their necks, shoulders, and saddles.
It will be hard to sex them as chicks but in a few weeks it will be obvious.
If anything I would think that the females would have more pattern as chicks but I don't think the pattern means anything here.
I think the more buff colored chick is female and the two more silvery ones (who just happen to have markings on them) are probably male. But we'll see. In two weeks you'll know.

Well, once the chick in the front hatched for comparison...I think I can see the gold mix (female) from the silver mix (males). The yellow chick in the pic is a pure BO
