I got my first BO about a year ago along with a BCM and EE. Phoebe, my BO was the first to lay. But she's the smallest of the group. She's not a bantam, but boy is she small for an Orpington. I expected a big girl. My BCM is the big one, and Phoebe is the smallest.
She's adorable with a great, adventurous personality. (OK, my favorite.) She's also lowest on the pecking order, but handles it well. The three get along just fine and Phoebe can hold her own.
My concern is her size. She eats like the others. No loss of appetite and she's very active. Could this be normal? I've never read of a small BO. I haven't weighed her, but my guess is 3-4 lb. Any ideas? Has anyone else experienced having a small BO?
