*Buff Orpington Thread!*

Hello, yesterday I went to TSC to pick up some pine shavings and saw them. They had gotten a shipment of BO's. I walked around and kept going back. Needless to say, I now have six BO chicks. I have had leghorn mixed in the past but this is my first time with a certain breed. They had Marian's but I wanted a bigger dual purpose. I asked the guy, is this a SR or pullets or ???? He said the box he opened said pullets. So maybe there is a cockerel in there, if not there will be some up for sale soon as peeps cull. Anyway here is a pic of my peeps and the coop/run they will go to. :D

Besides their personality, I think what I love so much about the BO's is that lovey full feathered bum that Johnn's photo shows so well. It makes me feel content and happy for some strange reason. (Until summer then I worry about heat stroke-But for now I know they are comfy.)

You have now made me want to head to TSC to see what they have in and I like your setup, looks quite secure for your hens! Congratulations!

Yes, to you. Your birds are beautiful and heathy. How long have you raised chickens and where are you? It looks as though you have lots of pasture for free ranging. What a blessing. We have 20 acres but it is in the Western NC mountains so we don't have pasture as you know it.

I love to free range mine. It snowed 5 inches let night but as it is melting, I hope to get them out today.

congrats on the babies!

Nope, not me. I am avoiding TSC until spring is over. I send my husband for food. I have come to understand my weaknesses... avoidance is my only chance of survival.

AHH! I'm picking up 3 Marans (to go with my Buffs) this weekend. I fell asleep thinking about what kind of chicks the co-op and TSC would have to go with my 3 little ones. I would like to get some more BO to bring some new blood in for next year.
Not sure I can contain myself when I go though.

If this is to me then thankyou :)
Have you ever thought about putting UK as your location?
