*Buff Orpington Thread!*

Eat them!!!

I could definitely eat the Buff, but Silkies are black skinned, meat, etc.. and I don't think I could get my appetite up to the challenge unless I was really desperate.
I'm not sure what I'm going to do, but I'm thinking of making a trip to swap about 75 miles away and seeing if I can give them away there.

That would work to I was going to say Craigslist but oh well .

We bought 4 pullets as chicks who are now just about 9 weeks and I noticed one of them does not look like the others. Is this a roo? I noticed the comb is more pronounced and it has wattles where the other do not. The comb and the wattles also appear to be more reddish. Everyone else looks like this
I'm in the same boat as you! I have 2 BO and both are cockerals and no one wants them! Ugh. Poor guys. Here are mine @just about 6 weeks old.
400

I was absolutely sure that mine was a roo for the same reasons, and she was the first to lay an egg. Hold on until you either see the neck feathers do that rooster thing, or they crow.
The redder comb means they are getting closer to laying.
Don't cook them yet.

At what age roughly do BO roos start to crow?
