I looked for a few weeks. And I do still let my flock out daily. I do hope you find her. Do you have any live traps? I keep one up, but catch everything I don't want to catch like woodchucks or peoples cats.

I'd likely catch my own cats... Lol
I will keep looking... But for today at least the younger flock is locked up, there is snow now so no one wants out any how.

I hope she's going to be okay.  How awful.

I understand.  We recently had a leghorn just up and disappear this Fall.  I don't know if she wandered off or if something took her away.  Other than the occasional raccoon we have lots and lots of coyotes.  And this time of year they are on the move.  

She sounds like one tough cookie if she survived this and a previous dog attack. 

Just lost an Orpington pullet... Must have been a hawk, can't find her anywhere.

Not a feather... The flocks not spooked... I keep thinking I hear her out back, but cant find anything... And the sounds always stop once I get outside... It's hard when there is no sign of what happened, do you keep looking or not? Let the others out or not? Was it a wild animal, a dog, is she stuck.... Too many things to wonder.

Johnn, I'm glad your girl was found... Maybe I'll find mine.

Thanks everyone. Was Bella who was attacked by the dog, this ones her mother. I'm not sure what it was will rather be a fox, dog, stoat or buzzard. I also hope yous with missing ones find them too, it's horrible not knowing.

Here's the options to what it was

Fox- would the primary hen really have escaped if the fox got a hold of her? Same with orp?

Stoat- would that have been able to get the orp over the wall?

Buzzard- would that hunt in the woods?

Dog- it would only have been the farmers dog and I don't see why it would take her into another field

All members of the weasel family are extremely strong... My 2lbs ferret is strong enough to drag 5lbs easy. And she's a decent climber... A stoat could do it IMO

That's the MO isn't it? In general its strange she escaped... Feral cat maybe... Or young fox....
