*Buff Orpington Thread!*

2 X 4s work good. Turn them sideways for more gripping area and keep them low. 18 inches give or take is plenty high for a big bird. You don't want them injuring their feet and legs. Another idea is like a ladder. You could use big, sturdy branches and make levels for them.

The majority of them will not walk in snow. They see it and turn their beaks up haha We have to make paths everywhere just so they can stretch their legs. Lately we've been at about 30 degrees give or take so they've been more willing to venture out. We had a few weeks of below or right around freezing and they went from the coop to under the snowmobile trailer and that was it. The snow blocks the wind under the trailer and I put straw down for them to have some kind of amusement. I bet they'd prefer living in Louisiana with you kacklinghen :)
 
Too bad we aren't closer I would have been willing to hand some over :)
