I shared this on one other thread, but one more can't hurt ;)

I just

when I saw this little chick taking a dust bath. I have never seen them try this so young, I just love it. This was their first day out of their little coop in the barn so they haven't really felt much grass yet. I'm hoping the next sunny day like this they can get out there and really start exploring the world :)

So I have a farming moral issue to get opinions on. I have Black Australorps and Buff Orpingtons. I enjoy crossing the because of the color I get. My issue is this; If I decided to sell a few just because I have more than I need, would it be wrong to call them Partridge Orpingtons (the closest I can come to describing the color is Partridge)?

I think saying they are partridge Orpington would be dishonest. People (like me for instance) may buy them because they need a partridge Orp in their breeding program (like me for instance) problem being, the genetics of a Black Australorp is different than the pure partridge Orp, and the resulting chicks will NOT be what some people (like me for instance) would be expecting. I will be breeding Isabelle/Crele Orps. They are Coockoo (spelling?) over partridge. The Isabelles diluted by lavender. Australorp bloodlines would be disastrous to my program. Best suggestion? Be honest and call the chicks what the are. Black Australorp/Buff Orp cross.
