Perfect description.

I am a newbie to backyard chickens but we started this year with a mix of baby chicks. Our Buff Orpingtons( Fleur and Daisy) quickly became our favorites! These girls are so sweet and friendly...I can't wait to watch them grow :)

Awwww.....such cuties! Great pics

When my Buffs were just Ragamuffins, this is one of my fondest days with my little flock. They all found a nice cool spot under the shade of our cottonwood tree....

...and they took a nap together.

Silly Birds.

Sooo...sweet!

Hello All. Just decided to drop in and say I have 7 Buff Orpingtons. Some of them are the sweetest birds ever and will peck my leg till I hold them, others are the most skittish birds I have. None have ever been very good egg layers, but Orpingtons are pretty popular around here so I might begin breeding them sometime!

My little cockerel just turned 6 months 2 days ago! Sorry for him not being so well fed I separated him & his sisters from the rest because they pick on them and don't let them eat

Wow, wait? Is this really a 24 week old BO rooster? I thought that by that age you would really see a bright red comb, waddles, sickle feathers, etc, etc. I am no expert, by all means but how do you know it's a cockerel?

His brother is MUCH more noticeable that he's a roo(began stepping) he's also attempted to step on the pullets, his tail is lower, his comb is redder than the pullets
