Goodmorning Everyone. Just wanted to let you know Gloria is becoming more friendly. Here is a video of her purring.

I did post a post asking whether or not her tail is infected.I am new to chicks and I really wouldn't know what is normal and what is not. If you know, please give me your opinion. https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/1128914/missing-feathers-infected#post_17433500

She is adorable

pic of one of my girls checking out the camera. Also I don't have a picture at this time, but is it normal to have a small amount of a darker chocolate color speckling in their tail feathers? The rest of her is solid buff like the rest.

Cute Pic!

Mine have a small amount of speckling in the tail feathers.

At exactly 20 weeks, almost to the day, I got my first perfect little pullet egg today, although one of the girls most likely layed it yesterday. After a week and a half in our new place too. Guess that free-ranging suits them. No pics, because trying to upload pics via the app on my phone freezes the whole phone up. But it was a small, but perfect little egg, which my grandson enjoyed very much.

I'm really close, mine are 22 or 23 weeks old now. I have 2 or so that have started to squat when. I walk up to them. I can't wait.

Congratulations!!! First eggs are always a delight!

I never tire of collecting eggs - I thinks it's amazing what those girls do.

Thats fantastic! I can't wait for our first egg, though with the shorter days coming, I don't think we will get one over the winter.

Feathers can look pretty awful when they start to grow back in. As long as there's no oozing or pus I would just keep up with the coconut oil, or step up to Neosporin if you're really concerned.
