Love it!

Congrats Bella!!!

*question: tell me about the bachelor pad. We have always just had one roo per breed and allowed them to stay with the hens. They would round them up at night and guard them during the day.

How does the bachelor pad work?

Thanks! Is the question to me? If so I dont really know what you mean lol

Betsy is definitely not a Bubba, LOL. She is about 11 weeks old now, though she is nowhere near the size of the breeder quality Buffs I've had at that age, being a hatchery girl.

I got both of mine from the same hatchery and they're very different.
One I think follows a little closer to the English Orps: "petticoat" and all. She's very plump also.
My other girl looks like Betsy, more on the slender side.

Anyone? Bachelor Pad
Have you checked out another thread maybe? I don't have roosters, so can't offer you advice based on experience, but I've seen a few people talk about building one on the Texas board.

I have 2 buffs and 2 silkies. I heard silkies were very sweet, and they are... However my buffs are the better companions! The silkies are very skiddish and won't leave the brooder. My buffs come to me, try to fly, eat from my hand.
