Hi All, I got home today and my beautiful buff Marj wasn't looking so well which is strange because this morning things were fine. One odd thing is that 7 of my hens have not laid in a week and I'm in Australia so it's not cold here. When I got home she was looking very sad so I checked if was egg bound and nothing, then suddenly she started vomiting up cloudy liquid then she started shaking then she died. She was only 11 months old. I thought snake bite but no signs of anything on her. Her mouth did smell sour which is the only thing I thought was odd. Any thoughts my fellow chicken lovers?
RIP Marj

Sorry for your loss
Any chance it was sour crop?

Not sure, she seemed 100% fine this morning and was pooping and eating normally. They only eat pellets so unless she ate something in the garden that got lodge in her crop. It was just so sudden and I'm still trying to work out why most of my girls have stopped laying for the past week. Thanks for your message, i miss her

It finally hit above freezing, and with the snow melting the feather babies decided it was safe to wander.

Magnet and his lady love, Pearl

Playing guess what, Chicken butt :)

Everyone's feeling alright with their flock protector in the background :)

And little Eggness is still behind. She's 21 weeks with no growth since we brought her in. I think she just wants to hang out with the fur babies
