*Buff Orpington Thread!*

Because it's mothers day (UK), I thought I would post some pics of all my mother hens from over the years. First we have Orp, with Asparagus and Bella (2012), we then have Orp with Dorothy and Lily (2013), We then Have Daisy with Lacey (2013) and then we have Orp again with Jezebel and Chanel (2014), then we have Bella and Henry (2014) and then we have Orp and Coco (2014)

Also got to give credit to Melow. She was sitting at the same time as Orp and all her eggs were infertile, so once Orp has her first hatch, I took the other hatching egg (which was Bella) and give it to Melow. Her and Orp then came together to raise them until Melow was killed :(.

Anyone see the Geico ad featuring a "free ranging" BO?  My neighbor told me about - says it reminds her of my goofy girls.  I think mine wouldn't be so shy in a diner - they'd probably hop on the counter and go straight for someone's breakfast!

Oh my, yes! I was so happy when I saw that commercial. It's fantastic! Our girls apparently free range our neighborhood and we found out they are even fun bbq assistants per our neighbor who picked up our visiting hen and continued his grilling with her on his shoulder. They even snapped pictures! I'm so glad our neighbors don't mind the real country living out here in the country, as we are currently setting the posts to get our fence up this week.

LOVE THE GEICO COMMERCIAL!! I saw it for the first time on Saturday and I have probably watched it on Youtube 10 times trying to figure out how many different chickens they used. Lol! Maybe I am hearing things but is the farmer saying, "He just keeps sending pictures." Ummmm.....don't think that chicken is a "him".

She's just my midget. Both the rooster and my hens are about 5 times her size. The entire time she's been indoors she has only gained 2 ounces.

Are you going to integrate her with the rest of your flock? We have a little bantam choc rooster that has always been very sickly and extra tiny. Because of his health I kept him indoors quite a bit but about a month a go I started putting him with our big girls little by little and now he is outside with them full time and has virtually doubled in size. I wonder if that could happen with Eggness?
