The chicken bug has definitely bit hereThank you for sharing MsKay, your Buff are gorgeous! Chickens make me happy too.Do have any other types of Orpingtons? And do you sell hatching eggs?![]()
The chicken bug has definitely bit hereThank you for the sweet complement.
In addition to the buff orps, I have White Delaware Orpingtons, Lavender Cuckoo Orpingtons, Spangled Orpingtons, Black and White Orpingtons, Barred Rocks, New Hampshires, and Delawares.
Most of my flock are 5 months and younger so I only have a few laying right now. I'm hatching everything at the moment but in a couple of months I"m sure I will be selling hatching eggs. I post most everything I have for sale on my facebook page first and then elsewhere if I need to.
Wow those lavs are beautiful! Absolutely stunning! I've always wanted lavs but the tattered feathers and lack of fluff deterred me. I never thought of cuckoo lavs, I am in love! Sounds like we have the same genetics behind our spangleds lol. I am thinking I will get some blacks to breed to mine.My Buffs are: Rooster from Heirloom Orpingtons 100% english Pullets from Norcal Chickens (Clevenger/Farthing line) A couple of nice hatchery buffs but this probably their last season Also have some chicks growing out from chickeleena here on BYC who has English/American Have some 100% english chicks coming from Heirloom for later in the fall My spangled comes from two different places but I think they both are Autumn Farms/Heirloom line. I do have two black split to mottled from Papas Poultry on here to add some new blood. I would love to get some black split to mottled from Ewe Crazy Farms to add to mine. I have Black split to chocolate and black pullets from Papas Poultry. Here are a few pics of the lavender cuckoo (only 2 months old) and there are more pics on my facebook page. It is really hard to get the barring to show up on pictures. They are beautiful in person already.![]()

Are you going to integrate her with the rest of your flock? We have a little bantam choc rooster that has always been very sickly and extra tiny. Because of his health I kept him indoors quite a bit but about a month a go I started putting him with our big girls little by little and now he is outside with them full time and has virtually doubled in size. I wonder if that could happen with Eggness?
Really pretty Buffs.
