They're beautiful! Did you get them from a breeder? They're so much fluffier than mine!

My BOs are darker than my neighbor's. Is that determined by quailit u?

They are English... That is the difference! The English Orps are much looser feathered and fluffier than the American strains.
My personal passion is English Orp bloodlines. Many breeders have imported English lines over the last 15 years or so since they have had much more time to perfect the breed and the colour selections are down right dazzling.
Beautiful Hens!

I think my 2 new 5 wk old BO are actually a roo and a hen. He's so much bigger, chest bumpier, has a red comb and wattles coming in while she has a light pink comb. Which means he's going to need to find another home.

Lately my BO has been laying soft eggs(she lays pretty much every day). My EE has also been laying thin eggs that are very brittle, both have been breaking, but the BO's egg shells are actually Kindof squishy.... I recently started a round of de-wormer (It seemed to cause the EE to lay bigger eggs). They all also seem to have poopy butts, so that's why I thought it was probably worms but idk? It's almost been 10 days and the eggs are still soft, how long does it take? I also thought about getting a vitamin supplement?

Do you have the oyster shell mixed in with the feed or separate?
I had a few soft or thin shelled eggs and mixed them together for a few months. That seemed to help.
Then I just kept the two close together in the hen house so they won't forget to have some.

I have one hen that just lays thin shelled eggs. I think her egg works are wonkie.

One of my Buffs used to lay a soft shell once a month and her "normal" eggs generally have thinner shells than the other girl's eggs. I stopped putting ACV in their water (since several people in our local BYC club told me that ACV can inhibit calcium absorption) and started using the Rooster Booster Vitamin & Electrolytes powder (I buy it at TS) in their water. It contains vitamin D3 to help with calcium absorption. I also discovered that my girls like flake calcium better than the type that looks like grit. We have not had a soft shell in about 6 weeks and her eggshells are a little harder, still not as hard as the other girls but there is a tiny bit of improvement. I think I have a chicken like, 3GoodEggs, in that her egg shell making set up is a bit wonky too.

They aren't from a breeder, as someone said it's because they are English Orps :)
