*Buff Orpington Thread!*

Hello Buff Orpington fans!
I am a newbie!
I got 2 sexed Buff Orpington pullets from a place that got them from Ideal.
Hatch date was 9/16/2015 and I bought them very shortly after that. One has very white legs and the other very yellow--does that mean anything? Is either considered more to standard? (although I now know that I should have looked for a breeder instead of hatchery stock.)
Attached is a picture that shows one of them.

That is Daffodil with the yellow legs on the right. (I am looking for a good home for my little barred rock 'roo--who was supposed to be a girl!)

That is fascinating! Do hatcheries commonly make mistakes like this or is it possible that Yellow-legged Daffodil is just a lesser quality Orpington?
Thank you so much--lol, I was just happy that we finally found a way to tell the two buff girls apart!

Do buff orpington hens commonly have spurs? I adopted a group of chickens recently and noticed that the buff orpington has one spur about an inch long on her left leg. Just wondering if this is breed typical! Thank you.

Hello, I am not sure how old they are. Are there signs to look for? The seller said they maybe a year old but they are not laying. But that may be because of the season.

What age can you accurately sex a buff? I've got a buff marans cross. I though it was a pullet. Around 2-3 months it grew small red wattles. But at 4 months is looks like a pullet. The marans can be sexed at a few weeks old. They grew huge combs when they were tiny.

I'm thinking it's a pullet, but I thought that to begin with and then a cockeral and now a pullet again!
