I ordered three buff Orpington chicks and three Salmon Faverolles and while I love them all, something looks off to me about one of the Orpingtons. Namely, dark patches on the emerging wing feathers! From what I've read, BO's don't tend to get anything but buff/golden feathers so I'm a bit confused.

Is it possible I've got something entirely different or just an odd Orpington?

Thank you for any help you can offer!

Interesting, they sure usually aren't that color. What color are her feet irl, do they look pink/white or are they yellow compared to the others? Are they from a hatchery , did you get an extra chick? What other colors does the hatchery have?

This one is very slightly larger than the others and perhaps a touch more yellow in the face and a teensy bit darker gold down the back. The feet seem perhaps a bit more yellow than the other chicks feet.

These chicks were custom ordered vaccinated replacements for the first three I bought that were sold to me as vaccinated but were not. The hatchery that supplies the store I bought them through is apparently able to supply just about any breed.

Jubilee orpington seems like a possibility! Wow that'd be a lovely eye catching hen to have in the yard! *crosses fingers*

I'll update as she grows. :) Thanks everyone!

I looked up chick pictures for both and I believe you're right! She's a New Hampshire!
