    Hi,

I have read that buff orpingtons should not be allowed to get wet. However, I know several people who have them and have never heard of this. Their's get wet when it rains and they have not had any problems. We have 2 BO's, 2 BR's and 2 RR's. Keeping 2 out of the rain and not the others would be difficult. Thoughts?

I can tell you Ive had BO's for over 5 years and I have seen them thoroughly drenched and the coop door just 2 feet away--No harm no illnesses-and They are still alive:)

All chickens will stand in the rain. I'm only weary about my Silkies getting too wet..............

Kelly G It's like herding cats!

I'd swear that my Orps think of themselves as ducks! They don't ever seem to mind being wet. Silly birds.
