Buff Orpingtons: girls or boys?

One more question: do our Buffs need to be vaccinated?

We also have two hybrid Speckaldys and they are vaccinated for Salmonella, but the Buffs (which came from a different supplier) are not vaccinated - should they be?

They could be pullets, but their body type, feathering, and general appearance says cockerels.

agree with that. when I posted the pic on this thread, the bird that matured quickly with red comb and wattles, also had a body type and feathering that made me think roo. Well, that little stinker was the first to lay an egg, and a very consistent layer, and was a stunningly beautiful bird on top of that. too bad a raccoon got her.

anyway, don't give up on them quite yet, but be prepared for the possibility.

Yep two Buff Orpington Cockerels
