Buff Orps, 3 weeks. Boys or Girls? **UPDATE** @ 11 weeks 5/10/08

You must have gotten hold of a batch of "pullet" eggs. lol
My eyes see nothing but pullets in those pics.
Beautiful babies. They are the sweetest hens to have around.
Good luck with them.

I'm not seeing boys but its still a young age to be guessing at #6 maybe a cockeral......Do they have white legs or yellow?....

I think they are all boys except for 3 & 4. You will should start to see some pink starting at the base of the comb in a few days and then in about a week, the whole comb should start looking light pinkish (on all but 3&4 whose comb will stay yellow). I hope for your sake I'm wrong, but that is what I would guess if they were mine. Great pics by the way. Just remember which bird is which number so you can take a pic again in a week or two. By then, it should be clearer who is who. Good luck to you.

I would say they're too young to guess, but based on the current pics, they all are looking like girls. But I would give it another week or two to see if the combs pink up at all. If they do, by 4-6 weeks old, you've got boys. The boys combs will get taller than the fuzz on the head too..and all of a sudden. Good luck..nice group of chicks you got.

I'm pretty sure those are not Buff Orpingtons. The BO's do not have yellow legs. Those seem to have white tips on the feathers.....i like them and i bet they are going to be just as beautiful as a buff orpington.....but i think they are something else. I'm sure the experts can tell you what they are.

One of my Buff Orps had yellow legs...mind you he always was a wierd little boy, he had a gammy eye too. Maybe it was just him, the other two had white legs...

Lovely pics though
