Buff Orps, 3 weeks. Boys or Girls? **UPDATE** @ 11 weeks 5/10/08

Its just the pics that make them look yellow. As I said above, the legs are white.

I love the idea of using the zip ties to ID your birds.

Unfortunately for me, I have more birds than they make zip tie colors.

However, if I use them on the ones that look the most alike........

Well folks, here is an update. These chickies are now 5 weeks old!

So looking at the before and after, what do you think now? They are in the same order as before, this time only one pic each. PLACE YOUR BETS!

I think 1, 5, and six are boys. One is for sure. Two might also be, that chick looks huge. My two month old buff orp cockeral is almost as big as my full grown girls.

Yeah, number 2 is a big one, for sure. Much larger than any of its hatch mates.

My thoughts.....cockerals, #1, 5 and 6...pullets, #7, 4 and 3...#2 is still up in the air for me but looks pullet....See what a difference a few weeks makes in trying to tell what they are?...lol

And they are Buff Orpingtons...

I stand by my original post that 3 & 4 are pullets but I would like to add #7 as a pullet as well. The rest, IMO, are cockerals. Thanks for the update. Post again shortly, I'd love to know the results.
