My local animal control dropped off a buff polish roo to me this afternoon. He doesn't move or make any noise. He was covered (and I mean covered) in mites so I sprayed him with permitherin. Most of the feathers on his head are gone. My questions are a) will his head feathers grow back, b) how much damage could the mites have done, and c) do I need to be doing anything else for him. I've had him about 7 hours now and the poor thing was about to starve and thirst to death. He is eating and drinking fine. The only things I have right now are starter crumbles, scratch, and BOSS, all of which he enjoys because he has eaten quite a bit. I also have ACV in his water. Any help on this rescue would be greatly appreciated.
