I am typically over-protective as well, but my daughter wants a career working with animals so I try to back off. She has to learn to take her lumps now so that when it really matters, she won't back down.
Today Gallifrey completely ignored the cat and the big dog but continued to try to attack little dog (who is now terrified of the all the chickens) but he was stopped. Didn't try to attack either my mother or my daughter when they stopped him attacking the dog which is an improvement over yesterday. All I've done is picked him up and held him for a bit, given him a few treats...basically paid him a little extra attention. He went after the littlest girl (Oswin) so I chased him, scolding that that was my girl and he wasn't to hurt her. He promptly turned tail and ran away so we'll see. Not high hopes, but perhaps some moderate ones.
