Buff Saddleback Pomeranian Geese?

RAREROO, I am the member who has the breeding pair and offered to sell you some eggs. Mine aren't exhibition quality, but are good looking geese (single-lobed, blue eyes) and right now they are the only geese on the property.
I currently have 6 of their eggs in my incubator: 4 are due on about January 7th, one the 12th, and one the 17th. All are developing nicely and look good: I will ship eggs, but not goslings. I would be happy to ship eggs after the first four hatch (just want to make sure everything is okay with the first goslings).
Here are the parents:

Yes I am still hoping to buy a few eggs from you MrsMagoo, as well as from chris50270, he is the other breeder I was refering to and he owns Goose Meadow Farms, and coincidentlly, when I was searching for Goose Meadow farm to find his username for ducklover1, the first result that showed up was one of your threads saying to had gotten your pair from him also. Haha that's funny but I guess that means I wouldn't have two different bloodlines if I hatched eggs from both of you, lol but I also plan to get greys too so I could cross with grey females if I needed new bloodlines. Please let me know when you are ready to start selling too.

Yep, you are correct, my geese were purchased from Chris at Goose Meadow Farms! His place is about an hours drive from me, so we were able to drive there to pick them up. He has a great place with a lot of nice geese, turkeys, chickens, and ducks (as well as kunekune pigs and miniature goats). He said my pair was unrelated, and he had at least a dozen more pairs of buffs, plus more greys than I could count wandering around. If mine were unrelated, then you may be in luck getting enough diversity from his and my eggs.

I plan on picking up a couple more Buff Poms from another source sometime in 2012 to get at least one more bloodline. So, I spent the morning running down leads on small-scale breeders. I have contacted about a half dozen breeders asking about egg and gosling pricing/availability. I will post any replies I get from breeders willing to sell eggs or small numbers of goslings.

I will give you a yell when I am ready to start selling eggs. I wanted to wait till the first four goslings were hatched in about 10 days: Just to be sure everything is as it should be. After that I will offer up all her eggs for sale since I currently have 9 eggs in my incubator. She is laying every other day most of the time, so I would have either 3-4 eggs each week to sell. I'll PM you after the first goslings hatch. Oh, and good luck with the eggs from Chris: He's a really nice person with quality stock.

She bought them from the guy she and I were discussing in the lasts two posts, the same person who's name I was trying to find for you, chris50270 on here and you can look him up and and look at the pics on his BYC page, and his website is Goose Meadow Ranch but I believe its most goats on the website. I didn't see any geese on there.

Thank you Ducklover1 and Rareroo is correct. Chris occassionally will sell adults (lists them on Craigslist), but I don't think he ships them???? I did locate a second breeder that has a trio in the Carolinas and am purchasing eggs in a couple of weeks. I am not at home (out of town for a funeral), but will PM you the breeder's information once I return late next week. Happy New Year everyone.

Rob,

Sorry I missed your post. I do sell eggs and have a waiting list, but am afraid she may not lay much longer: She started November 30, 2011 (unseasonably warm winter here). I can add you to the list, but their are still three people still waiting who would be ahead of you.

I do know a couple of other folks that have these geese. Their eggs are a little over twice as expensive as mine, but with them being so rare...who can blame them. If you PM me, I will give you their contact information as well.

The good news is that I hatched out six goslings from my pair and have purchased 14 eggs from two different breeders that will begin arriving in two weeks: One with show winning stock. So, hopefully I will have a nice sized flock of these wonderful geese established with good genetic diversity for subsequent breeding seasons. They may not lay very well for next spring, but should lay well the spring of 2014....for anyone wanting these that is just not ready yet.

Rhonda

PS Here is a more recent picture of them...
