same size as an embden
No, a pomeranian should be closer to the size of an american buff as they are both medium breeds. A major problem I think is that people are continuously breeding their birds larger because that's what the judges are awarding. I don't like it I prefer them smaller and I may be in the minority in that mind set, but that is according to standard and that is how they should be in my opinion. My father and I have this very problem as he likes them bigger and to prove my point that year at the fair our small American buff hen took grand champion waterfowl over my uncle's large embden size buffs.
Anyways here's some pics of our buff pomers...I don't know that they're rare, I would certainly think uncommon.

this is the best size comparison pic I could find. In the middle backround the is an young embden with a pomeranian on either side one buff and one gray. The embden is much more massive in appearance, it is also fairly taller. These were goslings though so perhaps not the best example, but the best I had.
