I have a buff silkie hen that I think is just beautiful but I have one question about her coloring. She is buff but not as golden as, say, my BO and her "underfluff" is really more white. I am not sure about this when it comes to silkies, I know if there are white feathers on a BO its a defect or disqualification. Other than that to my untrained eye and according to everything else I have read she looks great. THANKS in advance!!

Pics please...cannot help without seeing pics.

The correct buff color in the standard for silkies is no different then other breeds. The entire surface should be an even shade of "golden buff" free from shaftness, mealiness, cloudiness or mottled apperance. Head, neck, hackle, back, saddle, sickles and wing bow richly glossed intense, golden buff.

Undercolor: Similar to basic surface color, free from mealiness or any foreign color.

That really about raps it up.
