Buff Sussex chicks - can you tell what gender?

Well, these birds are just over six months.
Yours are eleven weeks. Twelve is the average time to see this type of feathering.

So the cockerel feathering would just be starting to show up. I do think they look like pullets, but I thought I saw the beginnings of some saddles on the darker one. I may be imagining it.

That’s brilliant advice. What are saddles? Sorry for stupid questions. This is the first time I’ve bought unsexed chicks.
 
Saddle feathers are by the back/tail area.
