Ok so my work with Yellow Hungarian's is going good ( i guess consdering i only have the one pair...), now i am seem to be stuck on the genes that form Buff tail black. As that's what the yellows are. So you people with more genetic knowledge can you help me? The only thing i know is that they are gold.

I am going to be out crossing to some breeds in the next few years, after i manage to get there genetic mess sortted out (well they are a gene gold mine IMO i just have to spend a few years selecting for each one)

sorry if the following will also lost you...

the buff phenotype is a very very complex phenotype and genotype to say the least... there are many ways to obtain a buff colored bird.. the genotype can be based on eb or eWh and e+ also, columbian restrictors are need it like Columbian Co and DarkBrown Db. Pheomelanin enhancers like Mahogany and autosomal red can also be pressent, pheomelanin diluters like Di(Dilute) and Champagne Blonde(Cb) are said to be on Self buff birds like Leghorns, cochins and minorcas.. some like buff columbian rock lack them... its a nightmare to eve try to reproduce them from scratch....

Call Ducks,
I believe you mean Black Tailed Buff as in a Black Tailed Buff Japanese and not a Buff Tailed Black.
Try a New Hampshire, That is as close to a Black Tailed Buff as you are going to get in Large Fowl.
